A new precision survey dose meter has been introduced by QUART. The German-made QUART didoSVM is currently the most compact and light weight high-performance survey meter in its class. The meter measures ambient dose and dose rates without background radiation.

The didoSVM enables the user to precisely determine scatter and leakage radiation. It features an excellent energy response to measure radiation dose and dose rate in the energy range of 20 keV – 2 MeV (conservatively rated).

The unit detects leakage and scatter radiation around diagnostic x-ray equipment as well as in radiation therapy and nuclear medicine facilities. The didoSVM features light weight radiation detector and base unit. Both components do not weigh more than 500 grams (17.6 oz) combined.

03/2013 QUART announces the publication of an article on their dido2000K diagnostic dosemeter for dental panoramic application: S A Mitchell and C J Martin, Comparison of ionisation chamber and semiconductor detector devices for measurement of the dose–width product for panoramic dental units, J. Radiol. Prot. 33 321 (2013).

The most striking results were the proven accuracy, ease of use and uncomplicated positioning in the fanned beam of dental panoramic equipment. The meter featuring solid-state detector technology was assessed as a valid alternative to an ion chamber for Dose-Width Product (DWP) measurement at dental OPGs.
